Flagbearer

Let your colors fly.

The Tower Cryptarchy's Archives see few visitors. They reside in a squat and unlovely building, tucked away from busy foot traffic, modestly veiled by a curtain of ivy. Nothing about their outward appearance hints at the treasures within: the engraved quartz plates, ancient data storage media, even a few fragments of paper records. The words of thousands slumber quietly in the stacks.

Rahool's favorite room is engram storage, though not for the academic reasons many might expect. In the late afternoon, the sun's rays shine through the room's skylight at just the right angle to strike the engrams on the topmost shelf. The light refracts and scatters through layers upon layers of crystalline data, reflecting through other engrams in turn. The humble storage room is aglow with pure knowledge.

On one such afternoon, Rahool hums tunelessly, trailing his fingers across a shelf. Here are more than a hundred survivors' stories from the Red Legion's attack on the Last City. Here are the transcripts of every confirmed and suspected interaction with the Witch Queen. Here and here and here, are the Tower's copies of important data shared from the CloudArk.

There is an ongoing attempt to describe the interior of the Pale Heart through an ever-expanding map, biological survey results, and first-person testimonials. And there is all known and recovered data about the Witness, including data recorded during its final defeat.

The line of engrams ends there, but only until the Guardian's return. Rahool retrieves a blank engram from a storage bin, holding it up to the light. It is clear as glass, photons passing through it with barely a hitch. "Now, my storied friend… I wonder what the next chapter of your tale will bring."
