"Hey, Guardian! Got a minute?" Shaw Han calls as you walk up.
"You've been around the system a bit, yeah?" he asks. "Have you ever seen anything like this?"
Shaw shows you a cracked piece of crystal, faded and gray. It almost looks like—
"It almost looks like a piece of an engram, right?" Shaw says. "But dead, calcified, empty. Engrams don't act like this. Once their data is drained, they decompile. It's weird."
"A New Light brought me this. Said he found it in a little gap in the rocks not far from here… before the Red War, Guardians used to call it the 'Loot Cave.' Rumor was it was overflowing with engrams for some reason."
He shrugs. "Every piece of treasure was pulled out by Guardians long ago, though. The place is picked clean. I poke my head in from time to time on my patrols, but there's nothing left."
He turns the shard over in his hands. "Or so I thought."
"Do you think you could head to the Loot Cave and check it out for me? Any old piece of tech might help the Vanguard, and these days, we need all the help we can get."
